Flower Pot Makeover - Trash to Treasure

Love summer, love flowers, love gardening!

I had some flowers that I really wanted to plant in a hanging basket to hang from a hook by my patio. Only problem.....I didn't have a hanging basket.  Well, except for one that was old, dusty and had a huge crack in it.

I can make that work!  Let's do a flower pot makeover!

BEFORE
Beautiful green plastic

Can you see the hole in the bottom and the crack up the side?

All I needed to make this hanging basket fun and functional again was a little duct tape!

I chose this fun and colorful chevron duct tape for this project.

I started by taping over the hole and crack in the basket from the inside and the outside to give it added strength.

Once that was nice and secure, I simply wrapped pieces of duct tape around the outside of the hanging basket and over the top of the basket.  Then, I wrapped pieces of duct tape around the three pieces connecting the basket to the hanger.

All I had to do to finish this project up is plant my flowers!

Here is a picture of the finished, planted, hanging basket.

What do you think?  For a couple of dollars I was able to take a busted old plastic hanging basket and make it into something usable, colorful and fun again!
